Assuming that a TL F/G, Jump4 Regency fleet, consisting of
                  10 * 50,000 Disp ship's (Warships)
                  40 * 10,000 Disp ship's (Warships)
                  50 * 400 Disp ship's (scouts/RQS)
                 200 * 100 Disp ship's (scouts/RQS)
is sent to clean up Vland sector of Virus and resecure it for the
Regency/Imperium, how long would it take to do the job?

And how would they organize the ship's to do the job? The safest method
would be to keep most of the ship's in one big fleet, and sterilize each
system, one at a time. How long would this take?

What would be the quickest method? "Each ship to take on one system"
rather than keeping the fleet in one place would be quicker: how risky
would it be to disperse the fleet?

A proper risk assessment would require a good grasp of enemy strength:
how would I estimate the strength of Vampire fleets in Vland? (I suspect
that Vland system itself would be a VERY dangerous place, because of all
the major naval ships and defense installations based there during the
Collapse). How smart are these ship's? And how do I go about cleansing
an infected, ex high-pop, high tech world? (`Bombard it from orbit' sure
sounds good to me, especially the cities - where Virus would be
strongest. BUT I don't want to kill any human (O.K., `organic senitnet')
inhabitant's that may be in the city.

My sample fleet above is just an example: what do you think the actual
ship composition should be?

>From the Races list:

Jonkeereen Jonkeer/Deneb 1324 (Vincennes)

Geneered race designed for desert existence. Originally designed for a
desert planet in Gushmege to counter Suerrat expansion early in the 400s,
they were developed by SUSag on Jonkeer in the 500s and developed their
own subculture in the 600s. See MTJ3.

They are not all that far from normal humans. They were imperial
citizens. They made up most of the population of Jonkeer, and I believe
had a few colonies elsewhere. Those who stray off planet
adapt to local conditions. MegaTraveller Journal 3 has an article with
more detail. What has happened to them since the bust up is up to you.

I don't know if someone answered this before but GDW did release an
eratta for the Mass Driver range. This is what GDW posted to this
list.

 Page 110

(Correction): The formula for computing the direct fire range
of a mass driver is wrong. Replace the second paragraph of the
"1. Direct Fire Range" subsection with the following:

"Short direct fire range in meters for a mass drive gun firing
a kinetic penetrator round is equal to _five times the sum of its
bore size in centimeters plus one-twentieth its muzzle velocity
 in meters per second plus 20. SR = 5 [B + (Vv20) + 20]"_
